We all want our clothes to be super distinctive, but with certain stores churning out more and more replicas, it sometimes seems near impossible. Thankfully, Japanese label graniph make distinctive style an affordable reality.
Beginning in the mid nineties in Shimokitazawa, Japan, graniph specialises in collaborating with designers and artists from around the globe to produce original graphic t-shirts. Each tee sits at a comfortable $40 (or $70 for two!) and is printed in a limited supply. Local design collaborators include Sydney-based photographers duo Lyn & Tony and artistic collective TOKO, while international collaborations have been forged with Brazil-based artist Hugo Werner to German photographer Jan von Holleben. If that wasn't diverse enough, graniph frequently join forces with musicians like La Roux and and Lenka to create special tees.
Hoodies, tanks, caps and dresses have also started to come under the graniph umbrella. There sure is plenty of diversity, to suit anyone's style.
To get your hands on the goods head to the graniph online store here or the flagship store at The Galeries Victoria, 500 George St, Sydney.
