Tucked away down a tiny lane running off Little Collins in the CBD, New Guernica is brought to you by the same team who created Third Class, Melbourne's fondly remembered, down and dirty dance alternative to Honky Tonks. You won't find any fluro inside their latest venture though (in fact, their dress code www.newguernica.com.au forbids it!), instead, you'll find cocktails, good wine, cheese, and more varieties of gyoza than you could shake a chopstick at.
They also have some of the most amazing decor in the city. Think elegantly twisted, themed rooms, private gazebos, patterned carpet, kitsch wallpaper, and wood - lots of wood. It's like a wonderfully vintage, deluxe cabin, but with added LSD.
In addition to the excellent snacks and decor, New Guernica offers free wi-fi, and tunes from some of Melbourne's best (Dave Pham, Mike Callander, Belgium and Cheapdate, to name just a few). Open 7-days a week until the wee hours, this is truly the place for 24-hour party people.
