The Big Pink have a rich musical pedigree. One half of the band - Milo Cordell - was the man behind Merok Records (which broke Klaxons and Crystal Castles). His Dad even produced The Moody Blues and The Cranberries (but we won't hold that against him). The other half of The Big Pink is Robbie Furze. Robbie made a name for himself playing in industrial behemoths Panic DHH and Alec Empire.
With album production credits going to Rich Costey (Mastodon, Muse, New Order, RATM) you can see why The Big Pink are a melting pot of a vast array of influences from the last 50 years of popular music. But to judge them by their pedigree would be doing them a big disservice.
After all, their last single - the frustratingly catchy `Dominos' - wouldn't get 1.5 million plays on YouTube if it wasn't actually a really good song.
