Jet turn The Metro into a sauna on one hot December night.
For a band who have become accustomed to playing in arenas and stadiums, the step down to The Metro didn't seem to worry the boys from Jet who evidently relished the opportunity to get up close and personal with their legions of fans in this comparatively intimate setting.
The band hit the stage amidst a flurry of Brazilian Samba beats, and with all the energy of Carnival, they launched into a set which featured singles spanning their three albums.
`Get What You Need', `Black Hearts', `Are You Gonna Be My Girl' and `Cold Hard Bitch' whipped the crowd into a lather, and fellow Aussie rock icon Craig Nicholls even joined the band for recent single `She's A Genius'.
The band pulled every trick out of the bag - call and response vocal exchanges with the crowd, pumping fists, old school posturing, and too many "yee-aahs" to count. And you know what? The crowd loved it, taking all the energy from the band and throwing it back at them four-fold, eventually spilling out of The Metro as one big, hot, sweaty mess. And that's what Jet is all about.
